Intake has published a new survey guidance document, to provide recommended specifications for dietary scales for use in quantitative 24-hour dietary recall surveys in low- and middle-income countries.
This newly published article describes a validation study of the 24-hour recall method in adolescents 10-11 y and 12-14 y of age in Burkina Faso against whole-day weighed observations. While both age groups underestimated nutrient intakes by 24-hour recall, the degree of underestimation may be acceptable for the 12-14 y old adolescents.
