This newly published article describes a study protocol developed to validate a passive dietary assessment method for estimating food and nutrient intake in LMICs. The research to be carried out aims to advance low cost, objective, fast, and accurate methods for collecting and analyzing dietary intake data in LMICs.

This newly released Intake survey guidance document provides a description of the methodologic challenges to estimating usual intakes from dietary surveys and recommendations for how to address these challenges in the context of quantitative 24-hour recall dietary surveys in LMICs. Guidance on the minimum number of repeat 24-hour dietary recalls that are needed to estimate the distribution of usual intake is also provided, both in the context of ubiquitously consumed foods, food groups…

The Lancet has published a four paper series to explore how the double burden of malnutrition is affecting low- and middle-income countries. Along with this four paper series, the Lancet published a commentary titled, "A Nutrition Manifesto for a New Nutrition Reality."
