Intake Short Course on the GDQS App and Metric

Intake is offering a no cost, remote on-line short course on the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) app and metric in September 2025. The course comprises four 90-minute sessions and provides theoretical and practical skills related to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of GDQS data. New Research: Validation of the GDQS for Children and Development of the GDQS-Meal and Menu Metrics

A set of seven research articles have been published in Nutrition Reviews as a Special Supplemental Issue focused on research to validate the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) metric for children; and research to develop the GDQS-Meal and Menu metrics for use in institutional feeding settings. New Research Article: Validation of Two Portion Size Estimation Methods for Use with the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) App

Intake's study to validate two portion size estimation methods with use of the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) app was recently published in the journal, Nutrients. The study assessed whether using the GDQS app with respondents reporting the amount consumed for each food group using a fixed set of 10 three-dimensional cubes of specified size; or with playdough was equivalent to the GDQS estimated by weighed food record (WFR) for the same 24 hour reference period.
