Manuela Strobel is a nutrition specialist with 12 years of experience in international nutrition research and programme management in low and middle-income countries. She has focused in method design and implementation of dietary assessment surveys and food and nutrition surveillance systems. Her programme management experience evolved from her analytical work and has focused on the development and implementation of nutrition sensitive and specific interventions in densely populated regions with good agricultural potential and in mountain areas with difficult access and relatively limited opportunities. Her clients include the World Bank, UNICEF, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Welthungerhilfe and the Aga Khan Foundation. She studied Nutrition Science and undertook her PhD at Hohenheim University in a study of vitamin A deficiency in Bangladesh. She can work effectively in English, German and French and lives in the Geneva area of Switzerland.
