Early Experience Analyzing Dietary Intake Data from the Canadian Community Health Survey-Nutrition Using the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Method

This article details the use of the NCI method for the analysis of two Canadian dietary data sets, describing steps in model selection and the use of covariates and stratification in the model, and providing information on time to convergence for the model used. The article outlines how different model specifications impact results and provides a flow chart to aid in decision making in defining choices related to NCI model definition.
