Christine Hotz (PhD) has worked in international nutrition research for more than 20 years. From the laboratory to remote field locations, her research has focused on food-based interventions for improved nutrition and health among the world’s most impoverished populations. Dr. Hotz has served as the founding Executive Officer and Steering Committee member of the International Zinc Nutrition Consultative Group, a research faculty member of the National Institute of Public Health, Mexico, Nutrition Coordinator of HarvestPlus based at the International Food Policy Research Institute (Washington DC), and as Senior Technical Advisor for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (Switzerland/Canada) focused on agricultural and market-based nutrition research. Dr. Hotz has been engaged in dietary assessment surveys and dietary survey methods development in a variety of low income settings throughout her career. She is currently based in Toronto, Canada where she consults for international organizations engaged in nutrition programming and research.
