Abdelrahman Lubowa joined Intake in October 2018 as Senior Dietary Survey Advisor. He is based in Uganda and currently leads Intake's technical assistance for the Zambia National Food Consumption and Micronutrient Survey. Before joining Intake, Lubowa worked for Urban Harvest, a CGIAR Global Program on Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture from 2004 to 2006 in Kampala, Uganda, and then as an independent consultant for 15 years (2007 – 2018) for various International research organizations and institutions including HarvestPlus/IFPRI, the International Potato Centre (CIP) - Kenya, CIAT- Rwanda, Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, the University of Rwanda School of Public Health, the Zambia National Food and Nutrition Commission and the UN World Food Program in Uganda to implement nutrition and quantitative 24-hour recall dietary surveys in multiple African countries including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. Lubowa is skilled in the planning and budgeting, the conduct of pre-survey work, the training of survey field staff, and the management of data collection, data entry, and data processing for large-scale quantitative 24-hour recall dietary surveys. Lubowa received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University.
