Global Comparison of National and Individual Food Consumption Surveys as a Basis for Health Research and Integration in National Health Surveillance Programmes

This review serves as the basis to define gaps and needs in individual food consumption surveys worldwide and assists in defining priorities for resource allocation.  It also helps frame research opportunities for investigating diet-disease relationships and for planning and evaluating the effect of diet-related policies and nutrition recommendations, such as food-based dietary guidelines.
